RMIT International University, Saigon South Campus, is the largest offshore campus of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, one of Australia’s leading universities.
A vital feature of every university is its library, and OUT-2 Design has the good fortunate of designing each of the libraries for RMIT Vietnam’s campuses in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
About RMIT University
The new Beanland library
In 2016, OUT-2 Design was asked to reconsider the role of the modern library in higher education, and develop a series of design interventions for the main Beanland library on the Saigon South Campus. Building on our original design for the library completed in 2012, this 2016 upgrade and renovation of both levels continues its transition into a place of electronic and internet-based resources, on-line learning, and face to face interaction. The new facility provides a variety of new destination spaces including individual and group study, exhibition areas and the adoption of a concierge/ roaming support model.
